Fraser Forster wants to sign permanently for Celtic after telling the Scottish sun in an interview that Celtic have the first option to buy him.

"I'm on loan here until the end of the season and Celtic have first option to sign me, but I'm happy leaving it until the summer.

I don't really see myself going back down to Newcastle, although you never say never in football. Things can change in an instant, but I imagine I'll be away from Newcastle.

It's all changed there and they signed a new keeper last summer. I went back there for pre-season and got on all right. But it's been a hard couple of years at Newcastle, so it's great to see them doing well. They have over-achieved so far this season."

I'm a Newcastle player, but I haven't been there for years. The players have all changed, the management has changed. It felt like I was walking into a completely different club. It's great to see them doing well, but it feels good to be wanted by Celtic. I've settled in really well this season."

Clearly this is the best approach, lets hope that Celtic already negotiated a price because his value has went up this season.

Was a fee not already agreed before the current loan deal?

I think we have the option to buy him for £2 million or thereabouts.

The Deal for him was £2 million that included the £500K loan fee so he is ours for another £1.5 million I think if I where Lennon I would pay it now and not risk losing him. We won't find better for that money.

He has been very consistent this season, I was not his biggest fan ,but his performances this season have been impresieve on the whole.

think we should get him in now and keep a steady backline as a new keeper would have to go through all the preseason and try to get to know the team but if we get him in he knows what it is all about now

Get him signed. Won't get a better keeper for the money and he is improving all the time.

You forget how young he is, I really hope we get him signed up before the summer, can only get better.

Only an extra £1.5m? We're not going to get any proven goalkeeper who's better than him for that sort of money. Should tie it up now before other clubs start sniffing and offer him higher wages and his agent more money.

ideally we'll sign him and get someone on a pre-contract as back-up. i don't feel reassured with Zaluska as our back up.

I'm quite happy with this, but still feel that Zaluska didn't get his chance. However Fraser has shown his mettle, and the fans like him too ( it helps when he waves back to us in the Lisbons ) The fact that he wants to stay shows he enjoys the club and might go on to be a keeper :)

wasn't keen on him earlier in the season, too many mistakes. however lately, especially since his penalty save, he is a vastly improved player and was without doubt today the MOTM.

opinion has changed alot on him over the past few months.

You can see his confidence is growing every good performance he puts in. Looking a good keeper especially at the age of 23. Most keepers dont hit their peak till late 20's through into their 30's most of the time.
