Still pretty new to CelticTalk so i can only apologise if im posting in to the wrong forums. Im needing help making a flag for going over to Lisbon. I have an idea for what i want on it but i dont know where to start. I want to make it pretty big. Tricolour. Black writing 'St Margaret's R.C CSC' at the top. A large European Cup in the middle. 'In the heat of Lisbon' at the bottom.

Any help and suggestions would be massively appreciated.

As far as I know they are made with a polyester material.

Ill be sure to post a picture of my effort. When i see some of the flags we produce at Parkhead though, im sure someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

best way to make a flag is using polyester material. but it depends if you want a two stick or one stick The easiest way to make a flag is buying some 'polly cotton' from a text craft supplier.Places like remrant kings.

when doing a 2stick,they look best a metre or so wide,buy 1.5,2metre tall.

Canes for 2sticks can be bought in BnQ,Garden stores etc.

Best paint to use is 'emulsion' again it can be bought from BnQ.

hardest part is the detail of the image,If you cant free hand.The best thing to use is a projector like this

Which projects the image you design onto a wall,you then hang your material on the way and trace the image,and then paint.


If wanting to make a non painted flag,again from a material supplier,buy some 'pongee' material,in a few colours and ask some 1 who can sew to make it for you.

Best sizes are about 5x3.

Tele scopic flags can be made in the same manner as smaller flags.And just chose your dimensions.Best is probably around 4 metres by 2.5 or so.

Cheers Reb. I'm thinking this is Definetly my cheapest option. I suppose it's about trial and error. Plus, I'll have more pride knowing its a flag I've made and no one else will have it. I'll update with a picture I the coming weeks. Any suggestions on paint to use?

sounds good , nearly be as handy to get the flag made up, and then try to get someone thats good at art to do the design and writing,

See my original post mate. It is pretty simple in style, but im sure with a bit of GB inspirtion, it will end up not so simple. Think I'll maybe buy a flag from ebay.

very easy to get a banner in the ground anyone looking to take a banner or flag into the game its better to have a two stick but its up to the person who has the banner
